Shiv Kund - Sohna (Gurgaon)

Sohna -  शिव कुण्ड : सोहना

Dear friends…. This Sunday I had visited Sohna.

Sohna is a small town of  Gurgaon District in Haryana. Sohna is a small tourist place, and well known for its hot water spring and Aravali hills. The water is strongly sulphurous and its temperature varies from 46°C to 51.7 °C. The water spring is called Shiv Kund. It is believed that this place is related to Rishis and Munis as they used to do their holy saadhna at this holy place. It is believed that Akbar has also visited this place.
About Shiv Kund, it is said that this holy spring water of this kund have medicinal properties and curative effect. If you want to get rid from your skin disease, take a dip in the kund. Devotees considered it as sacred and during solar and lunar eclipse and alos on Somavati Amavasya, they gather here for taking a dip in the water.

If you like to visit Sohna water spring  i.e. Shiv Kund, you can access this place only by foot through narrow paths which are unreachable to vehicles. But you can take Cycle Rikshaw to reach the Shiv Kund.  One  can enjoy the village life during your visit to Sohna.

Sohna is about 30 KM away from Rajiv Chowk, Gurgaon (Haryana) on Delhi Alwar route.  You can see Damdama lake which is about 15-20 KM from Sohna. Damdama lake is also good to see where you can enjoy boating and the scenic beauty of Aravali hills. Its better to see this place during winter or in rainy days.
